Helena Collins is a Licensed Professional Counselor and works with adults, adolescents and children ages 5 and up. She also has extensive experience counseling children and adolescents. She served as a School Counselor and Teacher for 7 years in the Houston area and has specialized training in anger resolution. Helena recently relocated to the DFW area to join Lake Worth Counseling.
Helena enjoys working with clients who may be struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, conduct disorder, anger management, ADHD, suicidal ideation, depression, and identity issues. She also offers family counseling and will integrate Christian principles into the counseling process if requested by the client.
Helena ascribes to evidence-based practices including Solution- Focused, Creative Art Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Her multi-cultural counseling approach focuses on celebrating cultural diversity, empathetic guidance, strengths of the client, identification of faulty behaviors, and replacing destructive patterns with healthy, safe and positive thinking. Helena believes in bringing awareness through self-empowerment, education and training.
